Tonight i'll definitely be making quick black bean soup; the one that requires a jar of salsa and requires very little prep/cooking time. any recipe for summer time that doesn't involve the oven or long cooking time is a WIN in my book. What are all of you all without grills/slow cookers cooking to avoid over-heating your house? Cold pastas and Salads are high up on my list. I'm seriously considering investing in a grill, but the husband isn't too keen on anything that's cooked on a grill so maybe it would be a waste of money since i can get the same results cooking veggies on a foreman grill...
what are you having?

Oh, our apartment heats up like you wouldn't believe, since it gets blasted by the sun on the south and east sides of the house.
So, yeah, we do lots of pasta salads (cooking the noodles early in the morning before the heat gets to us.
We do lots of stuff on the grill (thankfully, the previous tenant left us their grill. We use it lots).
And I do some crockpot cooking as well, since crockpots don't heat up a house like the stove does.
Oh, and I use my toaster oven a lot more.
AND, if I get sick of pasta salads, I'll cook quinoa in my rice cooker.

god, I thought the comm was dead! thank you for bringing it back to life.
I have a lot of leftover action going on, so I don't post about it much. still loving the BBQ lentils, lots of kale, and so on.

I've been wanting to post my meal plans, but unfortunately, I'm back tracking in the vegan department due to not being able to stay full with this whole pregnancy thing going on.

we all understand though that pregnancy does crazy things and makes you crave things you wouldn't otherwise want :)

don't worry and take care of you. if there's anything I can do to help in whatever way, you let me know. you know that if I lived closer, I'd gladly cook every meal you'd want me to. :)

Keep cooking and posting about things with whole grains. Eventually, I'll get it through my head that the whole wheat pasta is better for me than the refined wheat pasta. Even though it's tastier. ;)

i perfer the whole wheat pasta, honestly though, the way i got hooked on it was that i started buying the whole wheat veggie rotini
